Here is a very calming visualization you can do as a meditation. Or you can use it to calm your mind when life gets too hectic. It’s the pebble meditation. I didn’t make it up, but here’s my version. I hope this brings you peace and healing in your life.

Are you living YOUR life, the life you want to live? Are you so busy that you constantly “don’t have time?” To whom and to what are you giving your time? What beliefs drive your actions? Have you ever thought about this? Does life have to be this hectic? Do you want a different life, but don’t believe it’s possible?
How would you feel if you could have a different life, the one you want to live? Would you dare to take action (or less action)? What if you knew that once you climbed the hill and descended into the valley of your changes, that you could experience a more fulfilling and joyous life? Let’s take a peak over the hill together…
Is there something in your life that is just not working? A relationship, your job, your lifestyle? Maybe your health? You know it when something’s not working. You have a constant uneasiness about it. You know something needs to change, but for some reason you keep avoiding it – staying busy instead.
Perhaps the thought of change makes you uncomfortable. Maybe you know it will be difficult. Maybe you don’t know where to start. And so you find rational excuses like “I don’t have time to change,” “it won’t work,” or just flat out pushing it under the rug in your mind. But that little bugger won’t go away and will keep bothering you like a pebble in your shoe until you address it.
There’s a way to make big changes that won’t totally disrupt your life.
“I want to be more happy.”
Have you ever felt that way? Or maybe:
“I just want to stop feeling so bad (overworked, dull, robotic) all the time.”
Well I have felt that way and I did an experiment that was pretty successful in fixing the problem. Let me share with you.
(My personal background with this topic: I had breast cancer and a double mastectomy back in July 2014. I felt the fear, but I have strongly moved on from that fear and you can too!)
If you or a loved one has just gotten a cancer diagnosis, I want to reach out to you with this article to let you know you don’t have to be afraid. Of course you will be in the beginning. We are conditioned to fear cancer because we think it means death. But, I want you to know that you have enormous hope for a high quality, healthy, even long, life in your future if you want that and are willing to listen to the message from your body and take action to heal it.
Have you ever noticed the anxiety you can experience vis a vis your to-do list? If you haven’t noticed this, take a day to watch your thoughts as you review your to-do list throughout the day. You’re likely looking at the whole list and experiencing a sense of anxiety at the enormity of it all. And let’s face it, all those things on your list, they’re not all going to get done today, right? So… more anxiety.
There is a little trick you can use to cool down the flames of this type of anxiety. I think you’ll like it!
Meditation is supposed to be all about simplifying your focus and calming the mind. And yet, even in my approach to meditation I find myself complicating it. I think, “Which meditation strategy should I use today?” And my mind starts racing. Not exactly the way to begin meditating. Since I’ve been reading some great books on mediation, I’ve learned several strategies. So I decided to take the decision making out of it and make up some flash cards. This way I can shuffle them and just pick one and be on my way to mindfulness. After putting them together I thought it would be nice to share it with you all. So click to read more and grab your free download of these mediation flashcards.
Everything about you is happening at the cellular level. Your digestion, the movement of your muscles, the elimination of wastes, the clean-up of microbes and rogue cells, and so on to your entire health. These cells coordinate with other cells and work together as organs (stomach, heart, lungs, skin etc), and your organs work together as systems (respitory, nervous, digestive etc) all to serve YOU and give you what you want.
But it all begins at the cellular level. And here’s the thing: all these little guys (cells) are listening to you, all 75 trillion or so of them! They listen to what you think, feel, and say. And whether you think this is a crazy notion or not, it’s true. Just think about how your body reacts when you feel very angry or when you are elated. Those are two extreme examples that you can identify and feel. But the truth is your body is responding all day long to all your thoughts, most of the time with you being completely unaware. Now before you get worried, here’s the good news. Life is a marathon, not a sprint, so you have time to change your thinking patterns.
Instead of feeling worried, feel empowered! When your thinking supports your physical body, you are on your way to attaining a high level of health. So how can you make this work for you? Continue Reading →
