Exercising in the gym helps with mood, but I find that cardio helps more than weight training in that regard. Also, not to do it too late in the day otherwise you have trouble getting to sleep.

Thanks for the article. I find that when I am in a down cycle (which isn't too often), It's best just to keep to myself so I don't take out my anger on others. Usually I'm fine the next day!

So true. Cycles are part of our lives and we need to learn how to deal with it so that we will not end up making it worse.

I'm guilty of picking arguments when I've got a bad attitude, and yes, it <b>does</b> make things worse.

There have been a couple of times when I wrote out (<b>not typed</b>) the gripe I had with someone, and it really worked. For me, I would have to avoid typing it because then it would be so easy to copy the nastiness into a mailnote. Also, writing (for me) takes more thought. Maybe because there aren't good backspaces in writing ;-)

they way I handle it is, I think that there are many people out there who likes to see me in a bad mood, and I decide that I will act like I am 100% okay and everything is just great, I am full of energy. and after only half day of acting this I can feel that the agitation is gone, I am not tired, and I am just good.
Its important to do some real things to keep up.

Lots of Water. B-Complex vitamin. Multivitamin. Magnesium. MetRx Protein Shake. Avoid caffeine. Naps. RTCW (or good movie) with the lights off and the sound Way up, on the hardest difficulty (ie: totally engrossing concentration activity). Whine to a friend who's in a great mood. Write journal. Write fiction. Bug-out; go somewhere, do something apart from my usual routine. Try to identify any specific food cravings at that moment, however odd & eat that. Sometimes talking as little as possible helps.

Those are excellent tips. I cycle fairly rapidly, and it's very hard to admit that you're in a funk when you're in its midst. Often I indulge in behaviours that only aggravate my state.

Writing down my feelings is the best way to climb above them. I don't even need to find solutions when I write - just understanding my situation is enough to lighten my mood and restore some of my energy.

So true. Instead of fighting our way through, we should learn to go with the flow. We'll only make it worse if we keep on struggling. And no matter how hard hard we try, we will still end up drifting its course.

it's easier said than done. but yes, trying to handle these things properly will really make one feel better. crying it all out is better than arguing with someone about a small issue.
i usually lock myself in my room and listen to music. it helps me a lot.

There are times where I begin to feel completely drained just like you are talking about. Normally it helps me to go to the gym and workout for an hour or two. My adrenaline gets pumping and when I get back I take a shower and go to bed. The next day I usually feel a lot better.

If I continue to feel crappy I'll usually take a good look at my diet and try to make some adjustments to cut out anything that's outrageously bad.
