    They are great tips. Probably the most important step is remembering to ask for a referral.
    My goal is whenever I get a contact that is not interested, to ask for a referral.

    Great article and tips! I think a great way to get referral business is to always exceed expectations and to do what you say you’re going to do. Wow them and they’ll talk about you and recommend you.

    One way is to continually ask people whether they are finding value in the work you are providing to them. This “value reinforcement” action is outward on your part; and it seeks to get confirmation of your value, which then opens discussions about recommendations, introductions and referrals.
