I believe that by just being a part of “Priscilla’ Palmer’s Personal Development list obligates each of us to also post this list. You like me (Killeris at “Attitude, the Ultimate Power) are on this list. If you have already posted it, THANK YOU. If you have not posted it, I am officially putting out a challenge that you add additional sites that fit the theme and post it. This list can be found at: http://mondaymorningpower.blogspot.com/2007/09/personal-development-list-challenge.html.

    Great post.

I have no trouble eliminating thoughts from my mind and focusing on one thing… but only for a few seconds.

So for sports, this is great. I can focus entirely on the action at hand.

But for long term projects, it’s a little harder for me. I always have to keep reminding myself which direction I am heading.

    Nice post.
Eliminating all distractions is probably the best thing we can do to stay focused on a certain project.

My suggestion to improve focus is distingushing your target to the point that it is unique to all other distractions. Moreover, be sure not to know you are focusing when focusing on the target or you are not truly focusing.

I am getting up there in age and focusing has always been a choir. My mind seems to want to jump from one subject to another. This is frustrating. Its hard to finish a task. I refuse to take any drugs other then vitamin sourses. Any ideas let me know or anyone else with this kind of experience. David

@David S – I’ve always had this too. What works for me is keeping to-do lists to keep on track. And make them as detailed as you need. It works! When I don’t do that I spend lots of time trying to remember what I was going to do next!
