Working from home requires discipline as you describe but as long as you can keep that discipline and keep up communications with the outside world, it is for me at least a far better way of working.

What a terrific article. Usually, the argument is one sided for working at home but what people don’t realize is that working for yourself at home usually means more work to do.. at least in the short term!

Not everyone is cut out for starting their own work at home business. You have to be disciplined and you also have to be entrepreneurial. Not everyone has those characteristics and would likely fail miserably if missing either one. You also need to know how to advertise. There are several free advertising methods to employ such as article marketing, forum marketing, and video marketing at commercial friendly sites like Adwido.

Indeed there are lots of pros and cons in starting a work at home business. It does sound nice to be your own boss but the truth is that it’s not as easy as it sounds. It depends on your own attitude, self belief and the desire to succeed. But having your own home business does give you a lot of flexibility as well as re-discover your own talents which may have been sorely missed at your old desk job.

There are more benefits can be gained in working at home rather than working in an establishment. We are not forced to work by giving such time and we can still work with it anywhere. Time for our family is not complicated compared to our time when we are working out from home. So, we still have to enjoy working with our own and earn money by our own.

Nice article, I would agree with a previous poster, that that after setting up an answering service that uses real people to answer the phone, the credibility of my business has gone up a lot. Customers often ring to check that we are real. Choosing an answering service that allows you to update your status on the fly from a mobile etc really gives you credibility but does not tie you to the desk.

I love the idea of starting my own home based business, no one to tell me when i have to come into work, no one to tell me when i can take my lunch. You have to work more, thats ture, but you reap all the benefits of your work. With the internet now, it has become even easier to start working from home. Personally, i’m a student and I work from home. Its not really a business yet, but hopefully one day soon it will be!!

I think that you clearly outline the pro's and con's of operating a home baed business. For me it is definitely the Time Freedom of being able to work when I want and also where I want. I started my own blog about Internet Based Marketing which has some information to help the home based business person.
